About Me
I am a Computer Science Masters Student at the University of California, Los Angeles(UCLA) and work in fields related to Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, and Explainable AI, constantly exploring the rapidly growing field of Machine Learning. I believe that ML and AI tools are capable of exploring and answering challenging, unanswered questions deeply affecting our world and are valuable agents for social good. Also in the past decade, we have made remarkable strides in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence, BUT accuracy alone won’t suffice to create industry-grade applications.
My current research aims to create fair, unbiased, and robust machine learning models as these models are often used in high-stakes situations. To assess the model’s fairness, I am working on adding explainability to such models, which may provide insight into previously unnoticed biases. In addition, I am also working on adversarial attacks and defenses to assess the model’s robustness. In order to better understand my motivation, consider how airplanes have evolved from this to this, which is more efficient, but it also has fewer crashes and is much more reliable.
I previously worked as a Machine Learning Engineer for MTX Group where I learned about the important engineering aspects of deploying an ML pipeline on the cloud. Prior to that, I graduated from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi with a bachelor’s in Computer Science, specializing in Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, and was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Prof. Mausam, Prof. Srikanta Bedathur, and Dr. Prathosh A.P..
